Kendal LOVES to “co-co” color, and I have been looking for some bath crayons for her to enjoy. So, when I found this TinkerBell set on clearance, we had to have them. Bath time plus coloring, she was one happy girl!

A Sweet Girl January 17, 2010Print This Post

Tonight, Kendal and I were playing on the floor, and she loaded up her “purse” with several toys. As she loves to do, she put the purse on her arm and said “bye” as she started to walk around the couch. The typical “game” she plays. But then she stopped in her tracks and came back. “MMMMMM” With her lips pushed out, she came back to give me a kiss before “bye.” After a kiss from my sweet girl, it was “bye” again as she walked around the couch…

Party with a Purpose Print This Post

When I turned 30, the family went to Disney. When Nick Nanton turned 30, he threw a party to raise money for Young Life and invited approximately 2,000 of his closest friends! LOL!

The entire time at the party, I was reminded of the line from Sweet Home Alabama (the movie), “You have a baby. In a bar…” Ahhh yes, Kendal had her first trip to a downtown bar! I felt a little odd about it overall, but she had fun and the Nanton boys were there too. Plus we left by 8 pm, so she didn’t party too crazy… But look how sassy cute she was!

Frozen Florida January 10, 2010Print This Post

I know my northern friends will laugh at these pictures, but we so rarely have such a hard freeze, I just had to document it all. We have had several mornings of below freezing temps in a row. I can’t remember when it has been this cold for this long before. We almost had snow, they were predicting it and some places in FL did have some, but we only got freezing rain/hail. Nonetheless, it has been COLD!

(The first 3 pics are at almost 11 am in the freezing rain on Saturday and the rest are from Sunday when it was sunny and cold.)

Christmas Keeps Coming… January 7, 2010Print This Post

Daddy came home with gifts from Jamie and Deb and family from work tonight. Kendal was SO excited to see the Cinderella Baby, which she calls “baby.” And the My Little Pony. It is her very first My Little Pony – I anticipate many more to come. Thanks Deb and all!

We also finally put together the Sit n Spin that Kendal got from Aunt Liny for Christmas. Kendal figured out how to spin in NO time and she loves the music and spinning. I see lots of milage for this toy!

All bundled up for a walk around the block. Doesn’t Kendal look cute in her warm clothes?

Hollywood Studios Again January 3, 2010Print This Post

On our last trip to the Studios, we were all disappointed not to get to eat at Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano – it smelled soooo yummy. So, we decided to take advantage of passes and head out there for dinner.

Before dinner we managed to squeeze in the Playhouse Disney—Live on Stage! show. All of Kendal’s fav Playhouse Disney characters came to life in a puppet show with Mickey Mouse’s Club House, My Friends Tigger and Pooh, Handy Manny and Little Einsteins. It was a very cute show filled with all of her favorite songs, and we all enjoyed watching Kendal enjoy the show.

After the show, we had a yummy Italian dinner and headed home. Unfortunately, when we finished dinner the lines for the other rides were  1 1/2 – 2 hours long. In addition to being COLD, no one wanted to wait that long so we headed out. A quick trip, but it was fun.

New Year’s Eve at the Wasyliws January 2, 2010Print This Post

Until December 30, we didn’t have any plans for New Year’s Eve. (Unless you count siting at home and watching a movie after putting Kendal down… and maybe staying up to see the ball drop…) Last minute, Jane invited us to join them for dinner. She made a giant pot of tomato sauce – Chris’ grandmother’s recipe, and we were invited to try it.

Earlier in the day, Mimi and Papa Jack watched Kendal so Bobby and I could go see Avatar – a VERY good movie. After the movie, we headed over to the Wasyliws.

Our evening with the Wasyliws and the Volckos was a blast! Not only was dinner yummy (Jane is an excellent cook), but we had a ton of fun! Dinner was casual around the kitchen and after dinner the kids and dads played in the playroom. What started as a neat and orderly room was quickly turned into a kid’s mad house!

Finally, after desert, Jane turned on some tunes for the girls and an all-out dance party ensued. For the next hour, the girls dance their little hearts out to a Disney pop sensation CD. The whole evening melted my heart and every moment reminded me how lucky Bobby and I are. We have good friends and an adorable healthy and happy daughter.

I could not have imagined a better way to celebrate the end of the old year and the beginning of the new year. Home in bed by 9 pm, Bobby and I managed to stay up late enough to watch the ball drop and wish each other a Happy New Year.
