Supermodel Kendal! December 15, 2009Print This Post

My new job at PLAYGROUND took me to Sweet Cheeks in November. I thought we would be doing a little interview of the owners, but we ended up doing a mini fashion show with our kids! The pictures are the ones I took of Kendal -- the video and blog post below are from the PLAYGROUND blog.

Winter Fashion at Sweet Cheeks

If you are looking for the latest trends for babes and tots (or maternity wear), you can count on Sweet Cheeks. With threads from brands such as Pink Chicken, Appaman, Kingsley, Luna Luna Copenhagen, Childish, T-Bags, Joes Jeans, Chipie, Splendid Littles, No Added Sugar, Kicky Pants and many more, fashion-conscious parents can’t resist this hip boutique.

Sweet Cheeks invited PLAYGROUND to check out its latest fashions, so Tammara Kohler and I headed over to check out the trends with our kids in tow. When we arrived, our fashion sneak peak turned into a mini fashion show with our own kids and some other lucky shoppers as the very adorable models. Styled by Tammara and Sweet Cheeks owners, Christine and Kristine, the kids strutted about wearing the hottest trends.

Disney at Christmas! December 12, 2009Print This Post

There is something even more magical about Disney at Christmas! So, off to the Magic Kingdom we headed, to see Mickey and Santa.

Kendal did as expected with Santa – she was shy… but I was able to hold her in my lap and at least get her to look at the camera. No screaming Santa pictures for Kendal.

It was a crazy busy day at Disney – one of the more crowded days we have been. We waited in line to see Santa (only about 1/2 an hour), but everything else that had a line we just skipped. (Space Mountain was finally back open and it had a 2 hour wait!) Since the usual hot spots had lines, we actually checked out a few attractions we hadn’t done before. We went to the Monster’s Comedy Lab (cute) and Mickey’s Philharmonic (wonderful).

Since our main goal was to see Santa, we didn’t stay too long this visit, but the park was magical as always.

Magnolia Moms Party & Holiday Parade December 7, 2009Print This Post

Jill Price hosted the Magnolia Moms Christmas Party at her house before the neighborhood parade. We had potluck and the daddies came too! Everyone had a great time playing in her back yard – especially on the bouncy slide.

After the party, it was time to line up for the parade. Bobby missed the parade last year – he was in Seattle to see the Pats, so this was his first experience and he was quite impressed. Last year, all of the moms walked in the parade pushing the babies in their strollers, but this year several of us rode in golf carts.

The parade begins at our street with the golf carts lined up behind the firetruck! After the next street all of the bikers/scooter/rollerbladers get in line. Then finally a few more streets down the walkers join in the parade as we finish the loop to the club house. I would guess there were 40 or so golf carts in the parade this year with 50 or so at the bikers street and another 30 or so at the walkers. Nothing else that Magnolia does has such a big turn out as the parade, and it is a blast. The parade concludes at the clubhouse where cookies and hot chocolate are served and the Marines are there waiting to pick up the Toys for Tots.

The whole time we were riding in the parade I kept telling Kendal that we were “making memories.” It was a fun night!

Silly Girl December 4, 2009Print This Post

Kendal’s imagination is really starting to take flight. She loves to “cook cook cook” and then feed anyone nearby (real or stuffed). After we played with the books in her box, she set all of her animals up around the box. It was so cute, she set them up like they were all around the table. A couple of guys kept falling over, so I helped reset them better, but the set up was all her design. Check out her best friend “Puppy” wearing her Mickey ears!

Wondering what is on K’s head in the other pictures? Those are Christmas slipper socks! She found them on the floor – still pinned together from the store and danced around the house with them on her head.
