Mommy’s Shoes October 26, 2009Print This Post

Our little girl is definitely a girly-girl. She LOVES shoes (shess), jewelry and all things pretty! Whenever she sees a pair of shoes, she either wants to wear them or put them on me! She got the first one on by herself, but she needed some help with the second… but she walked all over the house like this!

Pumpkin Carving October 24, 2009Print This Post

After the Pumpkin Patch (and a nap), Bobby set to work carving the pumpkins. Pumpkin 1 came out FANTASTIC – I was quite impressed. Pumpkin 2, wasn’t Bobby’s best work. He got a little excited and tackled a really hard design. When part of the face fell off… well it just didn’t turn out quite right.

While Daddy was pumpkin carving and Mommy was roasting pumpkin seeds, Kendal set to work coloring. Do you see the bruise already starting on her cheek from the “pumpkin incident?”

Pumpkin Patch Print This Post

Our trip to the pumpkin patch was not as successful as I had hoped. Poor Kendal woke up with a bit of a cold – slight fever and very runny nose. But since we were running out of time to take pictures at the pumpkin patch, we went for it anyway. Not Kendal’s shinning moments…

The pictures capture the few moments we had without tears. When we first arrived, I thought everything was going to work out, but then she became clingy… We finally gave up and took the pumpkins to the car. At the car, I took of Kendal’s tutu. I really wanted 1 more small pumpkin, so we wandered back quickly to get another pumpkin. All the sudden Kendal was a ball of energy chasing Daddy all over the pumpkin patch. I was crushed, because she just isn’t Tink without the tutu.

As we were wrapping up, Kendal was carrying around a little pumpkin when she tripped. Down went the pumpkin, down went Kendal. Right away her cheek started to bruise… Poor thing landed face first on the pumpkin stem! We left in tears…

Green Meadows Farm October 23, 2009Print This Post

Bobby took the day off so he could come one the MOM’s Club field trip to Green Meadows Farm. We were all so glad he could take the day off because I wouldn’t have wanted him to miss this very fun day!

Green Meadows Farm is in Kissimmee and it took about an hour to get out to the farm. We had a big group – more than 20 people over 3 years old (for the discount) plus a lot of little ones. GM is a fantastic place for kids!

It was hard to tel what Kendal’s favorite part was, she seemed to love everything we did – rode the pony, pet the chickens, rode the train, fed the sheep, held the baby duck and chicks and much more. At the end, Kendal got to pick out a pumpkin to take home. She was so funny… she picked up and inspected a lot of pumpkins, but when she found the perfect one, she picked it up, carried it to her stroller, loaded it and she was ready to go!

We were fithly and exhusted by the time we left, but it was a GREAT day!

Magnolia Moms Halloween Party October 22, 2009Print This Post

What a difference a year makes. A year ago, they were sweet little babies. Now they are adorable little kids!

Rebeca had us all over on Thursday afternoon to play. Everyone arrived in costume for some quick pictures, and then changed into play clothes to run around in the yard. We all brought a pot luck to share, and it was delicious! The kids had a great time laughing and playing, they are all so cute!

About 6pm, the dads started coming home and stopped by to join in the fun for a bit before we all went home for much needed baths and bed.

Our Weekend with Nathan Bitman October 20, 2009Print This Post

When Deborah got in a bind and needed someone to watch Nathan for the weekend of her brother’s wedding, I volunteered. It was a no brainer to me – a friend needed me so I volunteered. But as the days drew nearer to our weekend with Nate, Bobby and Deborah’s anxiety continued to build. Somehow, I just figured we’d get through, but my worry-warts were all geared up!

Nate came over first thing Friday morning, and he stayed with us through Monday evening. I have to admit, it was a long 4 days. I just don’t know how people do it when they have 2 kids so close together! (Kendal and Nate are 9 months a part.) It was exhausting, and we quickly discovered that Nate did not like me as a substitute mom. Luckily, he liked Bobby, so whenever possible I left him with Bobby! LOL

It seemed to be a long weekend for everyone, except maybe Kendal. Kendal was her normal happy self. Although she does not like anyone else touching her toys, other than that she didn’t mind having another baby in the house.

12 Teeth… Print This Post

The final of her four, front bottom teeth is finally coming in. It was so far behind the others I was starting to wonder where it was!

Kendal now has 12 teeth!

Her Words are COMING… October 19, 2009Print This Post

Filed under: General — jen @ 9:09 pm

I kept hearing that it would suddenly be like an explosion and Kendal would suddenly start saying things… since she has been so slow to talk I wondered when this would happen. Well, it’s coming…

Kendal is starting to say more and more things, and I can tell she is really trying to say more. They are starting to slowly roll in, and I know the real explosion is close!

Her newer words include:

  • Rock (Roc-Roc) as in rock-rock, she loves to rock in her rocking chair
  • Ball (Ba) I bought her a Mickey Mouse ball at the grocery store and she can’t stop talking about it now!
  • Water (Wa) this plus pointing to the refrigerator
  • Cook (Cuk) when Kendal wants to eat, she wants to eat now! So, I have been telling her that I have to cook it first. Now she points to the microwave/oven and says (cuk).
  • Color (Kuk) Kendal Loves to color, so now whenever she sees a crayon, pen or something that looks like a pen she points to it and says kuk and pretends to color.
  • Cheese (Chsss) this means camera to Kendal. She says Chsss when we tell her to smile for the camera and she says it when she wants to see the camera
  • Shoes (Shoss) Kendal LOVES to wear shoes. If I leave a pair out where she can see them, she insists on putting them on.
