10 teeth! July 31, 2009Print This Post

Filed under: General — jen @ 3:55 pm

Just yesterday a Theta friend mentioned on FB that her daughter, Lilly, just got her 10th tooth. Lilly just turned 1 this month, so I mentioned to Kathy that K is behind. This morning, guess what popped through overnight — Tooth #10!

Tooth 10 is the bottom left molar. Kendal now has 4 top front teeth, 4 molars and 2 bottom front teeth.

Yesterday I was also going through some things in the disaster I like to call our office… and I found some pictures of me around a year old. (I summer time, so just before I turned 1.) At any rate, in the picture I also had 4 upper front teeth and 2 bottom front teeth… I wonder if the order teeth come in is genetic somehow…

So Hungry I Will Eat This Coupon July 29, 2009Print This Post

Normally on Wednesdays, we stay at my parents house for family dinner night. Then when we leave Kendal gets her milk on the way home. Since everyone is busy packing to go to NY, we picked up K and went home.

By the time we got on the road, it was already 6:30 and Kendal was HUNGRY. I fed her 2 wagon wheels on the way home, but I didn’t want to give her more since we were picking up dinner on the way home. None of her toys were making her happy, so I gave her a coupon to play with (she loves to crinkle paper and play with it). After a few minutes, I turned around just in time to see her stuff the whole thing in her mouth!!! So hungry, she wanted to eat the coupon! Oppse.

Kendal’s Puzzle July 27, 2009Print This Post

Filed under: General — jen @ 4:36 pm

A couple of months ago, we gave Kendal a few wooden puzzles to play with. Right away she really enjoyed taking the pieces out and playing with the pieces, but she hadn’t picked up on putting them back – until today.

This morning Kendal wandered off while I was washing my face and I found her in her room having pulled out all of her puzzles all over the floor. After nap time, she went back to playing with her puzzles removing all of the numbers from the number puzzle. The animals from her other puzzle were still out from earlier so I haded her the elephant and asked her to put it in its place. Without hesitation she took the elephant and put it in the slot. Next the hippo, the lion, the alligator and the giraffe! She did the whole puzzle very quickly. I helped her quickly remove all of the pieces and she did it all again! I was so excited and she loved my very happy praise. It was a big milestone that just suddenly clicked!

Bitman – Burg Extravaganza!!! Print This Post

Filed under: General — jen @ 4:20 pm

This weekend was the big Bitman – Burg Extravaganza at Pass-a-Grille. We all headed over Thursday night to have a nice long weekend at the beach, and we a FABULOUS time.

We spent a lot of time hanging out at the house with the kiddos. Kendal just loved having Coby around to play with all weekend. It was really cute! They came up with this “game” where Kendal would run up to Coby and “push him down” and they would both giggle! I tried to catch it on video, but I think I was too late to catch the really good stuff.

We did go down to the beach a few times, and Kendal is starting to actually like it! She still isn’t a fan of the sand, but she really warmed up to being in the water. When we were down on the beach, we were all in the water. I think that after a few more visits, she will be a real beach babe!

I feel like all we did all weekend was eat – I still feel full. I hope the Bitman’s weren’t secretly bored with our 3 nights in a row eating at Gennaro’s. We tried to eat at the new burrito place on 8th, but it was a disaster. From opening late, to not having food ready, no AC and finally the sweaty guy wiping his brow on his sleeve – we ended up at the Hurricane!

Ronnie had lots of firsts this weekend, and we were glad to be part of them — first time watching a sunset at the beach, first Bloody Mary, first Vespa ride, first time at the Gulf and first time breaking my Mom’s hammock… LOL yep, Ronnie fell in love with swinging in the hammock, but his button got caught and ripped a giant hole in the hammock — oppse!

Thanks for all of the fun memories Bitman family!

Kendal’s 1st Mole July 21, 2009Print This Post

I have to say, when I first noticed it a couple of days ago, I thought it was leftover food! But when it didn’t go away… Kendal has her first mole. It is a little dark spec under her chin (slightly to the right).

When I pointed it out to Bobby, his response was, “They just appear like that?” I pointed out that he wasn’t born with all of the ones he had…

Emergency Shoe Shopping July 17, 2009Print This Post

On Wednesday, it suddenly dawned on me (when I looked at Kendal’s feet) that Kendal out grew her sandals. I swear it happened overnight. One day she was fine, the next her big toe was hanging over the front of her sandal. So, off to Payless we went, for Kendal’s first official shoe shopping trip. (In the past, I have picked up shoes at clothing stores, this was the first time in a shoe store.)

Her little white sandals were a size 3 (her other pairs are size 4), so I thought we would pick up a size 4. But NO – the size 4 were not much bigger than the 3 we had, so she jumped to a size 5!

Kendal quite enjoyed being in the shoe store. She carried her new shoes all around the store! So, after a quick trip, Kendal now has a brand new pair of size 5 white sandals to last the rest of the summer!

Kendal’s 1st Movie July 14, 2009Print This Post

The theater up the street has a summer movie program for kids – $3 for a movie, popcorn and drink. They show one movie a week on Tues & Wed. A couple weeks ago, I decided I wanted to see how Kendal would do at a movie. So, Lori & Morgan, Amy & Ava and Kendal & I set out to see Horton Hears a Who. We had no idea how the girls would do, and I think we were all mentally prepared to leave early. But the girls did fantastic!

When we arrived at the theater, Maria’s Mom joined us with Julianne and Christopher. We all headed in for our mini bags of popcorn and mini drinks. Unfortunately, we were all running late, so the movie had already started when we arrived — we clambered to our seats and got settled. The theater was packed, we had to sit in the front section, but at least we got to all sit together.

Kendal started off in my lap – she was so excited about the big cartoon in front of me. I handed her a snack trap filled with Cherrieo’s and milk. Eventually, she seemed interested in sitting in the seat next to me. I brought her booster seat for just this occasion. I plopped her in her seat and she was content to watch most of the rest of the movie from here. Of course, I had to sneak a photo during the movie – unfortunately she choose to take a sip at the same time. But I didn’t want to use a flash too many times during the movie.

It was so cute and a lot of fun! Kendal’s 1st movie was a great success. I believe she will be a movie lover like her Mom & Dad!

Kendal’s Kitchen July 13, 2009Print This Post

Filed under: General — jen @ 8:40 pm

I have been looking at play kitchens planning to get one for Kendal for Christmas, and then Crissi sent out an email that she was selling her boys’. She said she bought it about a year ago, but the boys never showed much interest. I jumped at the opportunity and yesterday we picked it up. It is in pristine condition – there was 1 sticker on the phone that was messed up, but a little goo-gone later and you would never know there was supposed to be one. Working sounds, lights and lots of cabinets to open and close. The kitchen still has all its original dishes and Crissi even bought a bunch of plastic food for it. Since there is NO way I could wait until Christmas to give it to her, we set it up while she was napping.

Kendal took to it right away. From the moment she laid eyes on it she was all about opening and closing the doors and moving food from one area to another. I forsee MANY hours of play over the next several years. This is exactly the kitchen I would have picked out for Kendal, and it was a fantastic deal. Thanks SO much to Crissi and her boys for Kendal’s new favorite toy!

Tooth #9 July 12, 2009Print This Post

Surprise – Kendal suddenly has 9 teeth! The last two were so difficult , but I didn’t even know this one was coming. (She has been chewing a lot lately and I think her other front bottom ones are working on coming in, but I didn’t know about this molar!) Bobby was feeding her, and I caught a glimpse of something white – sure enough 3 of the 4 points of her right bottom molar have come through. So, now she really has chompers to help her chew – at least on one side!

Kendal is Harry Potter July 10, 2009Print This Post

Kendal was dragging my sweater all over the house, so I thought I should put it on her. Once on, she looked like she was wearing a wizard robe from Harry Potter. She loved walking around in my sweater – it was cute!
