Kangaroo Climber June 14, 2009Print This Post

We have been looking at getting Kendal a climber/slide for a while now, so when one of the Moms I know said she was selling hers for $20, I jumped. After Daddy cleaned it up, we took Kendal out to check out her new toy. She  loved the slide! She kept trying to climb back up the slide to do it again. I see lots of time spent climbing on this thing. Now, I just think we need something padded for under it :)

1st Ear Infection… June 13, 2009Print This Post

So, it isn’t one of those firsts that I am excited to write about, but it seems to be a childhood rite of passage. Kendal started to come down with a cold last Sunday. We noticed the first signs of it before the Splash Park, but it really came on after her afternoon nap. That night, she had a 100.3 fever and the nose really started to run. By Monday, the fever had broken, but the nose was like a leaky faucet. Tuesday, her nose was really stuffy and she sounded super congested, so we borrowed a humidifier from Jane. Wednesday, I went to work and she hung out with Mimi – she seemed to be on the mend. Thursday, the fever came back, and the day was filled with a crying pitiful baby. When she still had a 100 degree fever when she woke up Friday morning, it was time to visit the doctor.

I was sad when the doc confirmed my suppositions, she did in fact have an infection – an ear infection. Poor K. So, she started her first dose of antibiotics – Amoxacillin. We picked the pick liquid up from Public and started her 1st dose that afternoon. After her second dose, just before bed, she was already a new baby. Our Kendal was back, laughing and being silly. Amazing stuff that antibiotics.

Today, she has been better. But she isn’t yet 100%, but this is the best she’s been in a week. At least she likes the antibiotics, so she takes them without fuss! I hope she is all better soon!!!!

MyGym Print This Post

On Friday, May 29, MyGym had an open house to kick off the summer. Since we had never been there, several of us decided it would be a good idea to check it out. Kendal and I met Andrea and the boys up there around 10 am, and Mr Richard was to sing at 10:30 am. We had no idea what a ZOO it would be!!!

I think both of our jaws dropped when Andrea and I entered MyGym. The place was packed-to-the-brim with kids and moms. We found a place in the front and settled in to watch Mr. Richard – not too impressive. When he was done, the place cleared out and we were finally able to explore a little and see the rest of our friends. I was a little disappointed that because it was so crazy I didn’t even learn about their classes – the whole reason I wanted to go. But Kendal seemed to enjoy herself, so that was good!

Kendal’s Room Print This Post

When I put together my pregnancy album recently (finally), I realized the last time I took pictures of Kendal’s room was before she was born. We have added so much, it looked so bare back then. So, here are new pictures of her room – I am quite proud of it. I think it is a perfect room for my little girl.

Up. June 2, 2009Print This Post

Kendal’s word du jour – for the last week or so – is “Up.” She may be learning to walk, but she seems to be more interested in telling us to pick her “up.” I can’t remember exactly when she started saying this – her 4th word – but it has been over the last couple of weeks and now it is constant. Up. Up. Up. Always Up!

Tooth #7 June 1, 2009Print This Post

We have seem to have been pretty busy lately, so I had been attributing some of Kendal’s new crankiness to lack of naps on the go, but now I think there is another reason. Last night, I noticed the first point of her first molar is poking through the gums. My poor little girl has been cutting a molar!!! I think that explains some of her interrupted naps and her all together moodiness. This morning I gave her some Tylenol and she seemed to cheer right up. So, its official – tooth #7 has arrived!
