Swim May 3, 2009
Starting week 3 of swim lessons, Kendal was a swimming (floating) champ. On Monday, Kelly-Ann even said she thought this might have been her last week of lessons. (Usually, it takes 4-6 weeks to become proficient.) Kelly-Ann was putting her in the pool face first, and she was flipping into her float position like a cork.
But on Tuesday, things changed… It is kind of a mystery what happened, but she seemed to suddenly regress. She just can’t quite get her arm over to get all the way over to her back. And her week kind of went down hill. On Thursday, she even threw up on Kelly-Ann in the pool!
Then Friday, Kelly-Ann and I could both hear her taking gulps of water (instead of squirting it out like her normal fountain). Part way through her lesson, she threw up a little bit on Kelly-Ann. Then after the lesson, I was holding K while Kelly-Ann and I chit-chatted. Out of the blue… PROJECTILE vomit! (All water) YUCK! She has never done that before. I couldn’t believe it. She was totally calm before and after, like nothing happened. She might as well have just yawned!
Kelly-Ann is going to dial it back a little tomorrow, so I really hope this week she can get back on track. I really want her to “get it” this week. We are starting music classes with her friends on Thursday, so I really want this to be the last week so we aren’t doing to many things at one time…
