Splash Park April 28, 2009Print This Post

Megan hosted a playgroup at the Lake Mary Splash Park. I had no idea what to expect, since I had ever been there, but it was FANTASTIC. The place is so nice, and the kids had a great time. There is a park area with a swing set (with baby swings) and a couple of playground things to climb on, and then there is a big picnic area that is nice and clean and covered! At the front of the park is the splash pad – all fenced in with little water spouts for the little ones and big spouts for the bigger kids.

Kendal was very apprehensive at first, but she quickly discovered that she liked the water. She wasn’t brave enough to ever let go of my leg, but she laughed, and she loved watching the other kids. After splashing, we had a picnic lunch, and then some more splashing. It was a lot of fun. I defiantly anticipate more trips to the splash park this summer!

“Look Mom and Dad, No Hands” April 26, 2009Print This Post

All of the sudden I looked over at Kendal playing with her toys and there she was, standing up without holding on to anything clapping along to the music.  I quickly called to Jen, grabbed the camera, and managed to capture Kendal’s new “trick” on video.

When Kendal was born, Aunt Suzie and Lizzie gave us a Build A Bear gift certificate. We finally took Kendal to Build A Bear on Sunday. It was such a fun day. We helped Kendal make a dog – we named Doggy – complete with a little red dress. So much fun! Thanks Aunt Suzie and Lizzie!

On Saturday, Kendal and I went to the Richburgs to celebrate Carter & Cameron’s 1st Birthday.  (Daddy had to take Jordan to the airport.) The boys seemed to REALLY enjoy their cake, once the got going — especially Cameron!

Magnolia Mom’s Surpise Shower Print This Post

The Magnolia Mom’s haven’t all been together in a few months, but thanks to Katie, we were finally able to get together (most of us at least). And at the same time, we threw a surprise baby shower! Two of our Magnolia Moms (the ones who already have the most kids) are due in May and July – Susan and Maria. I think both moms-to-be were pleasantly surprised. Katie came over the night before, and she helped me make Diaper Cakes for both moms-to-be .

After the gathering at the park, the Sepras, Wasyliws, Volchkos and Burgs got together for pizza at the Sepras. Since Jordan was staying with us Friday night, she came too. We had a lot of fun catching up and watching the girls play.

Chef Mickey’s April 18, 2009Print This Post

My original plan had been to go Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary back in February.  Little did I know that you had to make reservations up to 3 months in advance.  Today was finally the day so we headed out this morning.  Kendal seem to enjoy the experience very much.  She got to meet Goofy, Pluto, Minnie, Mickey, and Donald.  She was certainly much more interested in watching everything going on rather than eating her breakfast.

Whoooo Hoooooo April 16, 2009Print This Post

Happy Dance – Happy Dance!!! The camera that I was sure was lost forever has REAPPEARED!!!!

A little over 2 weeks ago, Kendal and I went to a park over by Lake Mary High with the mom’s group. That weekend, I realized I hadn’t seen the camera since that day. We searched high and low – to no avail. At first I kept telling Bobby it would turn up (I am always temporarily “loosing things”), but as the days stretched on… I began to think it got left at the park.

For days I missed my camera – I couldn’t take quick snaps or videos…  We have the big camera mind you, but I can”t pack that in my bag for the day…

Finally, Monday Bobby broke down and bought me a new one. Then today, I lost the TV remote. I thought I looked everywhere, searching for nearly an hour. Then when I demonstrated to Bobby how I looked everywhere by picking up the couch cushion (which I am sure I searched under previously…) there it was! And once I grabbed the remote, Bobby reached down and grabbed THE CAMERA!!! I swear, the remote was trying to tell me something! Whooo Hoooo!!!!

Here are the missing pictures from the day at the park and a couple others I apparently took after the park, prior to loosing the camera!

ISR – Swim Leasons Print This Post

Filed under: General — jen @ 10:01 pm

Kendal started her first swim lessons on Monday, it went about as well as could be expected. She screamed through most of the lesson, and I expect that will be the case throughout…

Kendal’s lesson is right after her friend Ava’s lesson, and Ava is in her 4th week of lessons. It is amazing to see Ava “swim!” Ava has been walking for several months, so she is in a more advanced class then Kendal, but still it is neat to see her go!

Kendal’s lessons are Monday – Friday at 4:30 for about 10 minutes. The good thing is that the woman who teaches the lessons lives behind me, so we can cut through the backyard and we are there! Bobby and Mimi came to this first lesson. Bobby made a video and Mimi took pictures… I still haven’t seen them yet, I think I will wait until she is a little farther along to look at them to see how far she has come.

Its hard to watch her scream, but I want her to know how to swim for her safety and years of fun ahead!

Easter Print This Post

We headed out to the beach Thursday afternoon to enjoy a long weekend at the beach. We haven’t been since the 4th of July, so we were all looking forward to it. It was a great weekend.

On Saturday, we took Kendal on her 1st boat ride. She was a little freaked out at first, but toward the end she seemed to warm up to the whole thing. After the boat ride, we took Kendal down to the beach to check out the sand. That – she was not so excited about!

First we placed her on a towel and tried to encourage her to touch the sand, but she just wanted to watch Daddy play with it. Then we took her down to the water’s edge. After a little coaxing, I was able to stand her up in the sand, but she kept trying to pick one foot up. She did not like her feet in the mud! We found a pretty shell for her to keep, and she enjoyed turning it over and over in her hand. So, all in all, she seemed to enjoy being down there, but Kendal is not a fan of the dirty sand!

Following our post-sunrise-service naps, we gave Kendal her Easter baskets. She got SO much stuff! Everyone was so nice to Kendal – she got a total of 6 Easter baskets with I don’t know how many Bunnies! She loved ”opening” all of her Easter baskets. Then we had a mini ”egg hunt.” Mimi even found Easter eggs with fishies on them for the beach! After some photo ops, it was time to head home.

Easter Bunny April 7, 2009Print This Post

We took Kendal to meet the Easter Bunny today, and she did better than I expected – though still not great. Meeting Santa at Disney was a piece of cake, but she started wailing the moment I set her on the bunny’s lap. I think it was more the Mommy separation than anything else – I don’t even think she knew she was on the bunny’s lap, she just wasn’t with Mommy.

Finally, we decided to hop in the picture to make her happy. We had taken Aunt Liny along, so she did her special trick to make Kendal look at her and smile. Too bad Mommy chose that moment to watch Aunt Liny too and wasn’t looking at the camera! Oh well.
