Teething Biscuit November 16, 2008Print This Post

As Kendal continues to explore food, I thought a teething biscuit would be fun. Oh boy, she loved it, but it was SO Messy. In addition to the photos, I also made several short videos of her as the biscuit disappeared so Daddy could see. She began so clean, but by the end there was biscuit everywhere, on her face, clothes, feet, floor - everywhere. But she had so much fun. It took about 45 minutes for her to eat her snack, and she enjoyed every second! When she was all done – she wanted more!

Are we sick again? Print This Post

Yesterday, Kendal’s eye started getting runny and goopy, and this morning I woke up with the feeling that I am trying to fight a cold. As the day progressed, Kendal’s eye got a bit worse and red. Since we were supposed to go to a charity gala tonight to see Buble and the Murray’s were going to watch K, we decided to take Kendal to the Dr to make sure she isn’t contagious. The good news is that nothing is wrong with her eye, but she does have a cold. Since she has a cold, I couldn’t take her to the Murray’s – I would feel dreadful if Morgan got sick. So, I am home with K and Bobby went to the gala with my family. I am pretty bummed to be missing it – I was looking forward to the fancy event. But K is sleeping soundly and I don’t feel great, so I know we did what was best. Just bummed we are sick again…

Adventures with Food November 10, 2008Print This Post

Kendal has being trying lots of new foods lately and is starting to get the hang of “chewing.” Over the weekend, Kendal ate little bread chunks and banana pieces at the wedding festivities, and tonight she tried pureed chicken. The chewing thing is coming along, and she is really starting to like to eat real solids! But she does make a face with every bite. Tonight she ate lots of puffs! She wasn’t much of a fan of the chicken (chicken, carrots, sweet potatoes & rice combo), but when I mixed in some pears she was all about it

Stef & George’s Wedding November 9, 2008Print This Post

We took Kendal on her first road trip to Miami for Stef & George’s wedding. She was so good riding in the car for 4 1/2 hours!!! We only had to stop once for lunch and any time she got fussy we just put on a Raffi CD and she quited right down.

Kendal had so much fun and stayed up so late all weekend. I was completely amazed at how well she did staying up as late as she did. On Friday night she stayed up till 10 pm and on Saturday (at the wedding) she stayed up till 11 pm!!! Can you believe it? And the best part was that she was soooo good!

It was Kendal’s first time getting to meet her Aunt Audra, and she took to her right away. Maybe it is because Aunt Audra came with her new favorite Pink Pony & a book. She sure knows the way to a girls heart. (Thanks Audra!)

Friday night we all had dinner at Texas de Brazil and everyone oohhhed and aahhhed over Kendal. It was Kendal’s first time wearing shoes (unfortunately, we later lost these shoes at the wedding…). After we ate, Daddy took Kendal back to the room at 10 pm, and Mommy hung out a little later.

Saturday was game day (UF v Vandy) and everyone loved Kendal’s game-day attire!

Aunt Audra and Mommy left for the wedding early to help the bride, and Daddy hung back to get Kendal, feed, bathed and dressed all by himself. When I finally met up with him after the ceremony, Kendal was fast asleep in her stroller. Good thing she took that nap since the night went so late!

The wedding was beautiful! And we all had lots of fun dancing it up! Stef was a gorgeous bride and she and George looked so happy! It was a wonderful wedding.

To top it all off, after we shut the wedding down (at 1 am) I went with the Bridal party to a bar on South Beach. I was sad to be there without Bobby, but very appreciative to have this opportunity to hang out with Stef on South Beach.  Not sure exactly what I would have expected from a bar on South Beach, but it would not have been this one. It was so chill and laid back – I think I pictured craziness.

Finally on Sunday, we had breakfast with the families and headed home. Congrats to the newlyweds and best wishes for everything they are dreaming of.

Kendal has a Tooth!!! Print This Post

On Friday, we were hanging out in the room before the pre-wedding dinner and Kendal was chewing on my finger as ususal when I felt a tooth point!!!!!!!! We are so excited, her first tooth has broken through the surface and it is coming in! I have been so worried about her having a terrible teething experience, but it wasn’t bad at all, in fact, I didnt realize it was happeening. She has been stuffy with a little runny nose and a bit more sleepy and cranky, but that’s it. Kendal is a big girl with a big tooth coming in.

Happy Halloween November 4, 2008Print This Post

Mimi, Papa Jack, Aunt Liny & Uncle Bryan all came over for Kendal’s first Halloween. Dressed up as our little pumpkin, we took Kendal across the street to Trick or Treat at the Mills, watched Charlie Brown’s “It’s the Great Pumpkin,” ate toasted pumpkin seeds (that I made – yum!), gave out candy to all of the little trick or treaters and had a fun night of pictures!

Corn and Squash November 3, 2008Print This Post

Yummm… Kendal tried watermelon pieces with her corn & squash. The first couple of pictures of her making funny faces is the watermelon trial. I also took a couple of cute videos. Note the in the first video right after I said she can’t possibly choke, Kendal hit her gage reflex and spit up all over! The second video proves that she is still ok!
