Kendal likes Cereal! Print This Post

Filed under: General — jen @ 7:24 pm

As you can see from the post below with pictures of Kendal’s first experience with “solids,” during her first cereal attempt she wore more of it than she ate! But we were so proud of her on her second attempt she suddenly seemed to get the idea and actaully swallowed most of her cereal. We even finished the whole bowl – 1 tbsp of rice cereal and milk. She has now had 3 cereal breakfasts, and she really seems to like it. She opens really wide and tries to “help” guide the spoon into her mouth. (Unfortuantly, that’s how she ends up with cereal everywhere!) She seems to get bored about 1/2 way though eating, but she is making quick progress. I can’t believe she is getting so big!

Mommies and Babies Shopping Day September 6, 2008Print This Post

Filed under: General — jen @ 11:19 am

On Thursday, Kendal and I met up with a group of Mommies and Babies for a shopping day at the outlets. It is quite a feat getting 5 mommies and 5 babies from store to store, but it was lots of fun. We shopped till we dropped, but all of the babies were great! Check out some of the babies “shopping.”

Bear!!! September 5, 2008Print This Post

One of the things we like the most about our neighborhood is all of the wild life. I never get tired of pulling the car over on the way home to watch the deer, but I have never seen the bears. We have lived in our house for three and a half years and Bobby has only seen a bear once, but our new neighbors have already seen the bears twice since moving in a couple weeks ago. Well today, I saw a bear!!!!

I saw him across the golf course as I pulled onto Shadowmoss and slowed as I turned the corner hoping to catch a glimse again. Sure enough he came down the driveway right toward me! When he was about 15 feet away I was able to take a quick picture before he ran behind me and across the road. I took 3 pictures, but this is the only one that came out. I am SO excited I saw the bear, and even more excited I had a picture to prove it!

WIth everything going on, we have gotten behind (again). When we went to take Kendal’s 5-Month pictures, I only managed 1 photo before the camera’s battery died. Since she is already half-way to 6 months, I wanted to post the 1 photo, and also updated the Watch Me Grow page.

Kendal’s First Plane Trip September 3, 2008Print This Post

Filed under: General — jen @ 5:23 pm

This past weekend, we took Kendal to NJ to meet Bobby’s grandparents. The trip required Kendal to make her first plane flight. Preparing for the trip, Bobby and I were both very nervous. We did not want to be “those” parents with the screaming child, and we also didn’t want the presure to hurt K’s ears, not to mention I was paranoid I would forget something critical.

In the end, Kendal was PERFECT on the flight and a trooper all weekend. I planned to nurse Kendal on take off and feed her a bottle on the landing, so she was a little fussy waiting for the plane to take off becasue she was ready to eat, but once she ate she was an angel the whole flight. She took a short nap, but mostly she just played quitely in our laps. Ahhhh what a relief!!!

It was a good trip, and Kendal got to meet her Great-Grandparents for the first time. She also got to meet her Aunt Jenn and Uncle John for the first time too! Everyone was thrilled to meet her, and Gran-Gran really chippered up when she got to see the baby. Bobby’s Grandpa is still not doing well, but he was back in the nursing home so we were able to visit with Kendal.

It was a busy weekend, so Kendal had very little in the way of naps. But even with little sleep Kendal was very good, and the trip was a sucess! Lots of pictures to share!

Be sure to check out the picture of Kendal sitting in my lap, watching her first Gator game on Bobby’s computer whiel on his grandparents front porch!
