3 Month Pictures June 26, 2008Print This Post

So we are a few days behind, but Jen took some pictures of Kendal in her chair this afternoon. It’s hard to believe how much she has changed in 3 months. Take a look at her “Watch Me Grow” page and you can really see how she has grown from a baby to a little girl already.

Magnolia Moms at Amy’s Print This Post

Yesterday, the Magnolia Moms got together again at Amy’s house for lunch, playtime and some swimming! While Lori and I ate, I laid Kendal down on the activity gym with Morgan. They were too cute laying there together – they didn’t even cry! Morgan kept pulling Kendal’s hair, but she didn’t seem to mind. I have volunteered to host next month’s play date, and Kendal and I are looking forward to it!

Sunday nights we have dinner with my parents.  This past weekend they came over early to spend some time with Kendal before we left for dinner.

PF Changs June 24, 2008Print This Post

Friday night we went out for dinner to PF Chang’s with the Murrays. There was a short wait for a table, so we had both girls side-by-side on the floor in their car seats.  Two separate people came by to ask if they were twins (one even asked if they were identical) which was quite amusing.  We got a big corner booth which worked out perfectly and had a great dinner.  After, we went to Park Ave for some Häagen-Dazs.  Both girls were great and seemed to enjoy their outing.

New Stroller June 22, 2008Print This Post

Jen and I have been looking for a new stroller for Kendal that is smaller and more light-weight than her current travel system.  We are going to need it for our trip to New Jersey in August since it will our first plane trip with Kendal, and we have enough other big things we need to bring.  I came across the Mia Moda Cielo Evolution in a catalog, and after doing some research we decided to give it a try.  The big feature of this one is its ability to fold up small enough to fit in the overhead compartment of a plane.  It arrived on Friday so we decided to see what Kendal thought.  She’s still a bit small for it, but seemed to enjoy her new ride.

First Swim Print This Post

After Kendal’s big roll over adventure, we decided to take her for her first swim. After all, it was her 3 month birthday so we tried lots of new things. Kendal seemed pretty content with the swim. She didn’t get overly excited, but she defiantly seemed interested.

Kendal Rolls Over! June 21, 2008Print This Post

Filed under: General, Videos — jen @ 12:45 pm

Kendal has been trying to roll over since the day she was born, and she has been getting closer lately. Last week she rolled from her tummy to her side, but she couldn’t get all the way over to her back. This morning, she did it -- over and over and over again! In total, she did it 6 times in a row (then she was tired). The best part -- for some reason I decided to use the video camera for the first time this morning, so I got the whole thing on video!

Laughter, Toes, Sleep & Left-Right June 20, 2008Print This Post

Kendal is very interested in the world around her these days and is constantly checking things out.

Last Saturday, I had the privilege of hearing her laugh for the very first time. It was a short laugh and she only did it once, but it was a laugh just the same. She has done it a couple of times since then, but Bobby keeps missing it. She smiles all the time though and makes her little gurgling sounds that are really cute.

In the past week, she has also discovered her toes, and she now spends a good deal of time checking them out, grabbing them with her fingers and inspecting them.

Bobby and I had a short taste of what it will be like when Kendal starts consistently sleeping through the night. Four nights in a row (last Wed, Thurs, Fri & Sat) Kendal had her last meal at 10pm and was asleep by 11:30ish and slept till 6 am!!! But she was just teasing us, because she is back to getting up earlier – some time around 4 am. Though I really can’t complain because she normally goes back to sleep pretty easy for a couple more hours. But ahhh, I can’t wait till she will sleep for 8 hours!

One of Kendal’s favorite ways to check out the world is by doing what we call Left-Right. Wherever she is she turns her head quickly back and forth over and over. It is like she is watching a very fast moving tennis match! She is really rubbing off her hair in the back and has made a nice bald patch, but you can’t tell in the front where her hair keeps getting longer!

It’s hard to believe, Kendal will be 3 months old TOMORROW! She is growing so fast. We just graduated her into size 2 diapers yesterday.

First Father’s Day June 19, 2008Print This Post

Filed under: General — bob @ 8:34 am

I had a great first father’s day with Jen and Kendal.  They made me a very cool desk calendar that has different pictures of Kendal every month and can be used every year.  The three of us went to lunch and ran some errands that afternoon.  We then met my parents for dinner at Buca di Beppo. It was a great way to spend the day.
