First Dr Visit March 31, 2008Print This Post

Filed under: General — jen @ 1:58 pm

Kendal had her first Dr office visit Monday, March 24. While Kendal is still a little jaundice, the doctor didn’t seem too worried and other than that she is perfectly healthy.

During our visit, Kendal was especially squirmy, and the doctor remarked that he hadn’t seen such an active infant in a long time. Then we told the doctor that right after Kendal was born, the nurse warned Bobby that we would have to keep an eye on her because she was already trying to roll over right after she was born!

The doctor responded by telling us that infants can’t roll over and that she wouldn’t be able to roll over for a while. No sooner had the words come out of his mouth and Kendal rolled right over! Flipped right onto her belly at 3 days old!!! The doctor just laughed!

While Kendal couldn’t get back over to her back, and became quite frustrated, we were impressed.

Bear and Bella have been doing very good with Kendal.  They are both very curious of her, and whenever she cries or makes some noise, they like to come by and check things out.  They like to sit next to her whenever she is being fed or being held on the couch with one of us.  Here are a few pictures, but on the one on top is my favorite so far.

Visitors for Kendal Print This Post

Kendal had a busy Saturday with lots of visitors.  Aunt Lindsay came by earlier so she could finally see Kendal with her eyes open.  She also brought her a few cute outfits she had picked out.  Thanks Aunt Lindsay.

Later on, Aunt Jerry, Patty and Brittany came to meet Kendal for the first time.  Mimi and Papa Jack also came by and we had a very nice visit.

Kendal is 1 week old! Thank you to all! March 28, 2008Print This Post

Even though the nights are long, the days have flown by. It is hard to believe Kendal has already been in our lives for 1 week! I know everyone told us over and over, but it is amazing how much our life changed in a matter of a few hours.

All is well here. I am recovering, though still sore all over, and Kendal is perfect. She is a healthy eater, and so far a good sleeper! (Knock on wood!) Bobby has been home with us all week, and he will be home with us next week as well. Having him here has been wonderful! Not only has he been more helpful than even he realizes, but it has been amazing to share every minute of Kendal’s first days with him. I already worry about how Kendal and I will cope when he has to go back!

We are very blessed with Kendal and all of the love our friends and family have shown toward her and ourselves over the past week. We can’t thank everyone enough for the emails, phone calls and visits that have meant so much to us. It is such a blessing to have such an out pouring of love from everyone. From flowers and meals to dresses and toys, the generosity of our friends and family has touched Bobby & I more than we can ever fully express.

We can’t wait to see what each week brings.

Meeting Morgan March 27, 2008Print This Post

This afternoon, our friends RJ and Lori brought their three week old daughter Morgan over to meet Kendal. They also brought Kendal some gifts and a delicious dinner for us, which we enjoyed very much tonight. Jen even ate the salad, which if you know Jen, is a rare occasion. We can already tell that Kendal and Morgan will be great friends.

Going Home… Print This Post

We could not have been more excited to bring home our little Easter Egg! After waiting around for most of the day, we were finally released from the hospital around 6pm. We headed home in time to meet my parents and Lindsay & Bryan for Easter dinner. Mom brought all of the ingredients to cook our favorite Macaroni & Cheese and Pork Chops with Green Beans! Yum Yum

After dinner, Kendal even received her first Easter basket from Mimi. (By the way, that is what Mom has finally decided that she would like to be called.)
